It’s always hard to lose a pet- a loved one, a family member.

This is Bloo. He was like the little brother I never had. He was the SMARTEST, most loyal, most unique pet I’ve ever had/seen. He was 15 1/2 years old and his health was failing. The vet said he was having problems with kidney failure and cataracts. Yesterday he threw up blood so my parents decided it was probably his time to go. They took him to the vet this morning and the vet said she could give him Cortisone injections to help the pain but my parents decided that it wasn’t worth trying to mask the pain because things weren’t getting better.

I saw him last week for the last time and he didn’t look very good. His beautiful blue eyes were clouded over and he kept crouching like his back legs were hurting him. He was skinnier and had less energy. He was still purring and rubbing up against me though. I had a feeling that would be the last time I’d ever see him. I just wish that I could have had one more chance to hold him, cuddle him, and tell him how much I love him. He was an integral part of my life, especially my childhood.

I will miss him SO so so much. He grew up with me… He was like my parents second child. He was always there to greet anyone that came down the driveway and there to see people off. He would walk the edge of the property everyday to scope things out and was always there to purr and cuddle at night. He protected me from bad dreams and scary things in my closet. He defended our property from other cats, raccoons, and bumps in the night. I will never forget this amazing animal who graced my life with his presence.
